For girls who get dirty

OK. Women aren't guys. There's nothing wrong with that. We like to do what guys do, but we have our own way/reasons/skills/strengths/weaknesses.

My husband is exceptionally active and outdoorsy. He loves it when I enjoy the same things he does, but he gets that I'm not a guy and so need to do things at my own speed. That's one of the reasons I married him.

This site (very much a WIP) is dedicated to all those women who's boyfriends have bought them a £300 mtb and expected them to keep up at Cannock Chase on their £1200 light weight carbon framed steeds. Listen up sister, you were doomed from the start so don't beat up on yourself. My advice? Get him to ride YOUR bike. You'll have more fun, he'll get a good workout and he may just see the folly of his actions...

And here's some more general stuff that I like:

Sports Sister - The sports magazine for women

Stumptuous I love this site. It's packed to the gunnels with no BS fitness and nutrition info. Primarily geared towards women, but reasonably gender neutral. She's so tuned in to "crap expelled from the media sphincter" that you can be confident she'll get you motivated and not fill your head full more lies. A daily read for me.

Shopping!

Disclaimer: These are not paid links and inclusion of them on this site is, in no way, an endorsement of them. I just like their clothes :)

To include a link here, I have to like the stuff they do and/or find their women's products easy to find. In short, it has to be a website I'd want to go back to. No offense.

The problem with many sites I've used is that they don't always cater very well for the 16+ amongst us. So, this is a message for the buyers: SOME WOMEN START EXERCISING WHEN THEY'RE FAT. GIVE THEM SOMETHING NICE TO WEAR! (rant over)

Minx Girl As big a tom boy as I am, I still love girly clothes! They even have a hardware section for lovely bikey gadgety goodness.

Gear for Girls  Not tried these yet, but their stuff is great!

Sweaty Betty I have used these guys a couple of times and the service is good.

Sheactive  I've used these, too and the service is good.

Less Bounce Sports bras a go-go

No Balls Women's tri gear.

Venus Sports

Girls Run Too

Team Estrogen Quite simply some of the coolest clothes for female athletes. Sadly, it's a US site, but I'm sure they'd ship here.

General retail sites with women's sections

Wiggle link to women's section. It's massive!

Bikes You Like link to women's section.

SBR Sports I've used them and they have a lot of women's stuff, but you have to dig for it as it's mixed in with a LOT of men's stuff.

Leisure Lakes Pages and pages of women's cycle clothing including body armour.
